We show responsibility for merchandise
At Copenhagen Merch Studio, our mission is to create value-adding merchandise that gets used, displayed, and contributes to a better future. We believe in striking a balance between physical branding and protecting the Earth’s resources. Our approach goes beyond just selling products—we aim to drive a green transformation within the industry. We show responsibility by committing to transparency, environmental responsibility, and ethical practices throughout our entire supply chain. This includes adhering to the strict standards of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), ensuring our textiles are free from harmful chemicals and produced in fair, safe conditions. By doing so, we guarantee our products meet the highest ethical and environmental standards.
Our belief in a just green transition extends to the way we work with our partners. We expect everyone in our ecosystem to share our commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. We strive to foster meaningful conversations around resource usage and the environmental cost of merchandise, empowering our clients with transparent impact reports that detail carbon footprints, water usage, and land impact. Through our work, we not only promote awareness but also spark change in the industry. Together, we can reshape consumption, create positive change, and leave a lasting impact on the planet and its people.

CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS
WE ARE
GOTS CERTIFIED!
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) is one of the most rigorous and comprehensive certifications for cotton products, requiring us to have an in-depth understanding of our entire value chain and the vendors we work with. By adhering to GOTS standards, we ensure that our textiles are free from harmful chemicals and produced in fair, safe working conditions.
This certification reflects our responsibility and our strong commitment to environmental sustainability and ethical business practices, while also supporting the well-being of our employees and the communities we serve.
GOTS guarantees that every textile product meets strict organic and environmental criteria throughout its production process—from the raw material harvesting to the finished item. With stringent standards on chemical use, material quality, and fair labor practices, GOTS serves as a hallmark of both social responsibility and environmental integrity, ensuring that the products we offer are not only of the highest quality but also contribute positively to the world.

THE IMPACT REPORT
At Copenhagen Merch Studio, we show responsibility by tracking the environmental footprint of each order, detailing its carbon footprint, water usage, and land impact. This allows our clients to gain transparency into the environmental cost of their merchandise.
Our impact report serves three key purposes:
- ESG Reporting: Empower your organization to streamline and improve its ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) reporting.
- Transparency: Help you communicate the environmental impact of your merchandise to stakeholders, ensuring greater accountability.
- Create Conversations: Merchandise, like everything else, requires resources, and we strive to minimize our impact on the planet and its people. This report is designed to foster discussion about our resource usage and the environmental impact of the merchandise industry.
With our extensive knowledge of environmental and climate issues, we issue resource certificates for most of our orders, providing transparency on CO2 emissions, water usage, and land area. While we are committed to reducing our impact, we recognize that merchandise will always have some environmental cost. Our goal is to create merchandise that is not only used and loved but also contributes positively to your brand while promoting awareness of resource sustainability.

OUR MISSION
Our mission extends beyond mere merchandise; it’s a commitment to reshaping consumption habits for a greener future. By prioritizing durability and eco-conscious practices, we lead by example, advocating for responsible consumption.

Our vision in a book
At Copenhagen Merch Studio, we are driven to create value-adding merchandise and contribute to shaping the future of consumption. We show responsibility through our work by sparking meaningful discussions about the resources needed to produce merchandise. Our perspectives on the industry grew so significantly that they were published in the book “Vores Tøj – Verdens Ressourcer” (Our Clothes – World Resources), which led to the creation of the independent initiative, the Think Tank Textile Revolution. It is a professional and thought-provoking book about the problems of the textile industry and how we can address them. The book is based on a wide range of research articles, reports, and theses, and it conveys the sometimes complex material in an easy-to-understand language. With this foundational understanding of the issues and the industry’s complex dynamics, we offer suggestions on how political bodies, the industry, and consumers can contribute to having a positive impact on the textile industry.
R&D INVESTMENTS
We want to move the merchandise industry towards a better and more responsible future, that´s why we continuously invest in research projects and product development in partnership with our most ambitious clients. One of the last is the research about Recycled PET bottles in textiles, made by The Textile Revolution. This research explores the benefits and challenges of using recycled PET bottles (rPET) in textile production. It analyzes the environmental impacts of various recycling methods, comparing mechanical and chemical recycling, and the importance of closed-loop recycling. The research emphasizes that while recycling PET bottles is more sustainable than landfilling or incineration, reducing consumption remains the most eco-friendly choice. It also highlights the role of geography, with regions like Europe having high recycling rates, where using bottles for textiles may not always be the best option. The conclusion advocates for a long-term approach, where PET is kept in a closed-loop system, transitioning to textile recycling only when material quality declines.
